Egyptian Deathstalker (Leiurus quinquestriatus)
Egyptian Deathstalker (Leiurus quinquestriatus)
Egyptian deathstalkers (Leiurus quinquestriatus) have a widespread range throughout desert and scrubland habitats of North Africa and the Middle East. These are a medium-sized scorpion reaching up to 4", with 3" being more common for adults. Deathstalkers are attractive and hardy captives that are one of my personal favorite Old World species.
Leiurus quinquestriatus are one of the most venomous species of scorpion and should be treated with extreme caution and respect!
Currently available specimens are field-collected imports from Egypt. The group is mostly sub-adults and small adults, approximately 1.5-2.5".
*Please be aware that this species possesses medically significant venom.*
