Barbados Red Moon Crab (Gecarcinus lateralis)

Barbados red moon crabs (Gecarcinus lateralis) are a vibrant species of land crab distributed across the islands of the Caribbean as well as the Atlantic coast of Central America. Also called blackback land crabs, these crustaceans are related to the more commonly available Halloween moon crabs (G. quadratus) and care is similar. 

Currently available specimens are field-collected juveniles-adults.
