Eastern banded killifish (Fundulus diaphanus diaphanus) are a species of killifish native to the northeastern United States. They are sexually dimorphic with the males having blueish-silver banding on their sides and the females displaying fewer, thin distinct black bands on their sides. Banded killifish are a euryhaline species, but most commonly found in freshwater.
I find this species very enjoyable to keep in aquarium as they are hardy and very active throughout the day.
